Founder’s Story
Zach Bidner is a lifelong entrepreneur seeking his next adventure. He founded Sunset Legacy Partners to acquire and lead a business and foster growth for many years.
Born and raised in Los Angeles, California, Zach grew up working in his family’s fiber manufacturing business. He saw the excitement and challenges of growing a small business firsthand and fell in love with entrepreneurship at a very young age.
Zach went on to start his first business at the age of 24—an award-winning media production company that specialized in producing documentary films and commercials for many high-profile clients and partners such as Amazon Prime Video, Netflix, Lincoln, Lululemon, The Chainsmokers, JAJA Tequila, Steve Aoki, and Therabody. In addition, during the COVID-19 pandemic, Zach also co-founded and ran a leading COVID testing provider for media productions across the greater Los Angeles Area.
He started his career in working in operations at Relativity Media where he helped build and lead the company’s digital division. He has worked on major film, tv and digital releases which collectively generated more than $650 million in worldwide box office revenue.
Zach earned an MBA with Honors from The University of Chicago Booth School of Business. While getting his MBA he worked for several investment firms and small businesses in M&A and growth roles. He also holds a B.A. from USC’s School of Cinematic Arts.
Outside of work, Zach enjoys playing golf, snowboarding, spending time with his three nephews, and passionately cheering for the Lakers, Dodgers and Trojans. He lives in Los Angeles, CA with his partner, Ellie and their dog Walter.
Family Legacy
My first two entrepreneurial heroes were my father and grandfather. My grandfather immigrated to Southern California in 1977 and founded a fiber manufacturing business that my father worked in and eventually led. They scaled the business over 20 years and dedicated their professional lives to serving their employees, customers, and community.
Sunset Legacy Partners is inspired by them and the values they instilled in me. I’m determined to follow their lead and grow a business for many years to come.
